Welcome to the Granum Fire Department Online
The purpose of this web site is to introduce you to the services the G.F.D. members provide, and to educate you on fire safety. An interesting history of the department is also available.
Up-coming Events In January 2010, Fire Chief Travis Coleman will be teaching the S-300 in Granum, and students living within the MD of Willow Creek will be participating. The annual Granum Fire Department fundraiser dinner will be held in February. 2009 in Review The Granum Fire Department was kept very busy in 2009, responding to a record number of calls, 50 in total, ranging from MVCs, structure fires, grass fires, medical calls and false alarms. The G.F.D. hosted their annual dinner in February, the ball tournament in June, and provided safety services during the fire works on Canada Day and at the Gospel Jamboree in July. Also in 2009, Fire Chief Travis Coleman finished his 1001 courses and obtained his instructors certificates. He taught three 1001 courses over the year and has really enjoyed his role of instructing fire fighters and helping them to become certified. Where in the world is Granum? Located in the country of Canada, in the province of Alberta, the town of Granum is on Highway #2, 150 km (75 miles) South of the city of Calgary and 100 km (60 miles) North of the US border at Carway. West of Granum are the Foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and to the East are the great prairie grain fields.
